This will be the 37th running of this very special event and
again we shall be using the exciting 18 hole championship golf
course which is situated on Dent Island, 15 minutes by launch
away from Hamilton Island.
Charlie and Paul will again be with us and as before we have
a full and interesting itinerary planned for your enjoyment.
Don’t forget our famous Melbourne Cup Calcutta!!

CHARLIE EARP & PAUL KING
Charlie Earp
Charlie Earp will always be remembered as mentor and coach
to Greg Norman. However there are many others that Charie
coached, including. Adam Scott, Andrew Buckle, Wayne Grady,
Mike Ferguson and Karrie Webb. Within many other achievements
are Royal Queensland Golf Club Professional 50 Years. -
Life Member Australian PGA - Past President Queensland PGA
Paul King
Paul King was the Wynnum Golf Club Professional for 45 Years.
He is also a Life Member of the Australian PGA and Past
President of the Queensland PGA. Among those that he coached
you will find such names as Ian Bakerfinch and Karrie Webb
Both Paul and Charlie bring a vast knowledge of the game
to this now traditional event - combined with unique sense
of humour. We hope that both will again be with us this
year but this will depend on numbers

Hamilton Island
|
Since our group travelled here last year the course has certainly
become friendlier. The island has just come out of our wet season
and the course has become more lush. Balls are not bouncing as hard
due to the softer turf. Also the fairways have been more defined with
a short cut of rough prior to the natural vegetation lines of hard
rough. With this more golf balls are being held up when the shots
are off centre. All of the greens are very consistent and now have
the same grass coverage over them.
